FAQs

I notice that the WARP site looks different, am I still able to access the old site?

The WARPs site has transitioned to a new platform. The old site is archived here for pre-existing members that still require access, although this site is no longer supported. WARP is now provided by CERT-UK and it is encouraging new WARP creators to consider creating their group via CiSP, the online Cyber-security Information Sharing Partnership.

Why is CERT-UK supporting WARP?

CERT-UK is the Computer Emergency Response Team for the UK, launched in March 2014 in response to the National Cyber Security Strategy. The Cyber-security Information Sharing Partnership (CiSP), part of CERT-UK, shares and expands upon WARPs’ objectives to help share cyber threat and vulnerability information in order to increase overall situational awareness.

What are the benefits of WARP membership?

By moving to become part of CiSP, WARP members benefit from:

  • Privileged access to cyber threat and vulnerability information and solutions in a trusted forum
  • Early warning of cyber threats and vulnerabilities
  • Ability to learn from experiences, mistakes, successes of other users and seek advice
  • An improved ability to protect your network

These benefits are in addition to the networking opportunities that exist within WARP communities. As well as being able to talk to fellow CiSP members, you will have access to a number of different groups that share information on cyber threats and vulnerabilities and mitigation action advice.

How much will membership cost me?

Membership to CiSP, where all future WARPs will be created, is free. The CiSP initiative is funded by government through the National Cyber Security Strategy.
