WARP operators forum

Welcome to the WARP Operators Forum (WOF). This page is for those who currently operate WARP(s) or for those who may be interested in becoming a WARP Operator.

What is the forum?

It exists in both a virtual and a physical form. Virtual, via an electronic discussion forum and physical as a face to face meeting held four times per year. Meetings have been hosted by Local and Central Government, Academia and the Private Sector and have been held in venues across the country from London to the East and West Midlands, Merseyside and Yorkshire.

WARP Operators, WARP Member Representatives, GovCertUK (the Computer Emergency Response Team for UK Government) and Representatives from other Government Departments make up the regular attendees. Occasional invites are offered to representatives from Industry and other interested parties as required.

How do I get involved?

All WARP Operators are automatically invited to attend the regular meetings and to contribute to the electronic discussion forum. If you are a WARP Operator and have not received this information please contact us. If you are a prospective WARP Operator or have an interest in the WARP Initiative you may be able to attend a meeting.

What does the forum do?

The whole WARP concept has a basic tenant of “Information Sharing”. It is therefore vitally important for regular, effective communication between WARP operators. The Forum is the primary facilitator for this discussion. In many ways the Forum is an extension of the Local WARP Forums. It is the place to share not only experiences but also to disseminate local developments to the group, to raise problems and attempt to find their solutions.

The Forum can also assist with the development of WARP by capitalising on interest in a coordinated manner and developing the interest into action. It also allows all operators the opportunity to contribute to and comment on activity.
