The glossary explains abbreviations and terms used in the WARP Website, in alphabetic order.

API
Application Programming Interface
CERT
Computer Emergency Response Team (trademarked by CERT/CC)
CPNI
Centre for the Protection of National Infrastructure
CSIRT
Computer Security Incident Response Team (another name for a CERT)
ENISA
European Network and Information Security Agency
FWA
Filtered Warnings Application - software which supports the WARP Filtered Warning Service
GovCertUK
Computer Emergency Response Team for UK Government - GovCertUK assists public sector organisations in the response to computer security incidents and provides advice to reduce exposure to threats.
Member (WARP member)
The organisation that belongs to a WARP. The organisation can be represented by an individual or a group.
NISCC
National Infrastructure Security Co-ordination Centre. - Part of CPNI from 1st February 2007.
Operator
The organisation which is responsible for establishing, managing and operating the WARP and for day-to-day running of the WARP services and operations.
Provider (WARP provider)
A term used in early versions of WARP documentation. Now replaced by the term “operator (WARP operator)”.( Some downloadable documents may still use this term.)
Toolbox (WARP toolbox)
A collective term used in early WARP documentation for the part of the WARP website containing material made available to assist in the development of a WARP. (Some downloadable documents may still use this term.)
UNIRAS
The previous name for The UK government CERT, providing Warnings and Advisories to government departments and commercial organisations who are part of the CNI. UNIRAS is now CSIRT UK, and is part of is part of CPNI.
WARP
Warning, Advice and Reporting Point.
