South East Government WARP (SEGWARP)
South East Employers (SEE) is providing this service for up to 74 local authorities in the South East of England. They will be working in partnership with the University of Wolverhampton.
There are 7 Counties, 11 Unitaries and 56 Districts in the south east region. The SEGWARP will provide services to those authorities who wish to sign up. It should be a particular benefit to District councils, many of whom are small and have limited capacity to pursue computer security issues.
The SEGWARP will enable the exchange of best practice from national and regional levels and encourage networking and mutual learning. SEE has a strong relationship with the local authorities in the south east and already runs a number of networks for both officers and councillors on a range of topics.
SEE has established a level of trust with local authorities which should benefit it in establishing the WARP service. The service is being developed in partnership with the University of Wolverhampton. They will be providing the Filtered Warning Service and also providing expert advice at our quarterly Forum meetings.
We will be setting up a steering group for the WARP made up of volunteers from the membership.
