About Us
The WARP Programme was created in 2002 by NISCC, which was later incorporated into the Centre for the Protection of National Infrastructure (CPNI). The first WARP was created in 2003.
CPNI own the WARP Programme and have supported its activities over this time in conjunction with the WARP operators themselves through the WARP Operators Forum.
The support from CPNI includes the creation of this WARP site, previously called the WARP Toolbox, and the development of WARP software applications which reduce the cost of running a WARP.
WARPs are part of CPNI's strategy of supporting trusted information sharing, alongside other models such as Information Exchanges.
Other UK Government departments also support the WARP programme, for example GovCertUK is important for the wider public sector, including local authorities.
Information Security & Assurance (IS&A), part of the UK Government's Cabinet Office, also supports the WARP programme.
