WARP site updates

NEW Toolbox structure

The changes to the new website should be self-evident. We are responding to requests for a ‘beginners’ section on the site, leaving the Toolbox for those who wish to delve deeper and begin building or maintaining their WARP. We have also taken the opportunity to update the style a little. We hope you like it, and we welcome comments.

The WARP Toolbox has been restructured taking on board feedback from users, with the following major changes:

  • The previous Toolbox structure was based on how to create a complete WARP, which meant that collating information for each service was difficult as it was spread throughout the Toolbox under the different headings. Now, all the information associated with each WRegistartionARP service has been brought together and can be found under the ‘WARP Services’ menu in the left hand navigation bar;

  • For further clarity, the product elements, which are generic and occur before creating the WARP services, are located in the section 'Setting up a WARP', e.g. Business case.

  • Equally, the generic elements, which affect all stages of a WARP, including running the WARP, are located in the section 'Operations', e.g. Marketing;

  • Anyone wishing to walk through the Toolbox can still do this by starting at the top of the left hand navigation menu ' Introduction' and reading each section sequentially until they get to 'Governance', by which time they will have read all the stages needed to create an operational WARP;

  • The navigation bar on the left now exposes all the sections regarding WARP services, so there is now no need to go over the words with the mouse to find out what and where the sections are;

  • To reduce the size of the navigation bar on the left, the more general links of the site have been re-positioned horizontally in the top right hand corner of the page;

  • To avoid confusion, the link to 'Home' takes you back to the home page of the general WARP website www.warp.gov.uk whereas the 'Toolbox home' just takes you back to the Toolbox entry page;

  • The ‘Downloads’ section has now been divided into three titles reflecting the three main areas of the Toolbox - 'Setting up a WARP', 'WARP Services' and 'Operations';

  • The ‘News’ section has been restructured to allow easy access to current news on ‘Toolbox updates’, the ‘WARP newsletter’ and ‘Archived news items’;

  • All the pages have been reviewed and updated where necessary;

  • Some of the website’s software has been replaced to improve performance;

  • The colour and branding has also been updated to reflect a more contemporary style.

Feedback on the new WARP Toolbox structure would be welcomed by emailing:
